THE CHALLENGE : 14 900 KM, DISTANCE RECORD IN AN UNASSISTED ELECTRIC VEHICLE
The challenge : Establishing the first unassisted distance record with an electric vehicle, from Shanghai to Paris and Monaco : 14 900 km.
Xavier Chevrin and Geraldine Gabin drove on roads and tracks across China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany and France.
It was the first expedition of its kind undertaken by an electric vehicle, with distances of 300 to 400 km covered per day.
Deserts, sandstorms, steppes, snow-capped mountain passes at altitudes of over 3,000 metres, the vehicle passed an unprecedented endurance test under extremely varied climatic and road conditions, opening up a new path for the use of electric cars.
This mission established de facto the reality of the robustness of the electric vehicle and its technology.
